“We are all born human and exposed to the world’s energy. In that moment we are all equal.” – me (I’m pretty sure)
Hi! My name is David Ridgewell, and I am a physiotherapist at Marda Loop Sport Physiotherapy.
I’d like to take a minute, so just sit right there, I’ll tell you all about how I became the guy in need of repair. Yes, that is a reference to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. No, I won’t be writing in rhymes this whole blog or post. But I might in times I want to emphasize most…
Hook complete.
The inspiration for this blog is to share with you where I came from, where I am at now and where I want to go. I’m a 28-year-old very active, exercise enthusiast, who eats sleeps and breathes physiotherapy. But I’ve been knocked off my feet; I am currently waiting for back surgery. I felt compelled to share my brain with you, the reader.Time to explain the goals of this thing. Goals are important in life, at work, at home, and well, inlife. Here are my blog’s goals:
- Be Informative
- Be Accurate
- Be Funny (check)
- Be Authentic
#3 is well on its way to being achieved. As I ramble, I will use information backed by good research (ie. meta-analyses of well done randomized controlled trials from reputable scientific journals). I will reference areas of healthcare, research, and sometimes refer to people who are scientists, clinicians, etc. BUTI claim NO title of all knowing. That title was already taken by (insert Religious or Higher Power name here). I love to learn and do so in a way that is fun. Scientific debate and exploringalternative ways of thinking are a couple of my hobbies and what I find stimulating.
Finally! I was born a human. Equal, balanced, and ready to interact with the world’s energy. Well, I think that takes care of #4. I guess this post is over. If you feel the need to move around, please do so. Unless moving increases any pain. Then don’t. We do not want to make pain worse. But, you should really try to move because we don’t move enough, and, movement is medicine. Maybe try controlled, focused breathing. If that doesn’t help you move pain free, then use something to help with the pain so you CAN move pain free. This is a Merry-Go-Round. Those with no pain may have moved on from this post. Some would have stayed for the next one or two sentences, but then moved on as well. Still, some, if not the rest of us, are continuing to read on the Merry-Go-Round, trying to solve the riddle of pain/discomfort/imbalance. Lucky for you the next post is about that. Catch this segue to Post #2.
